Computer games graphics
Concept art
Concept art is basically sketching, using a computer or by hand a first draft for a game for example Gravity rush which is shown in the pictures above. it makes the game look nice and get the feeling of actually being there
Pixel Art (2D sprites and isometric 3D sprites)
and applications. It is a different way of making characters and backgrounds which makes it less realistic than concept art.
Background art
Background art is basically what it says it is the background so for example walls, clouds and forests etc one good example of a background is the franchise Grand Theft Auto where the backgrounds are very realistic which makes the mood and atmosphere better when something happens like a sunset.
Texture Art
Texture art is different to other styles as most of the texture art is made from a photo also it is mainly used with backgrounds. Most of the time the art can be flawed but no one cares unless they stare at walls.
In-game interface
The in-game interface is more commonly known as a HUD which stands for head up display. The head up display shows the player how much ammo they have, how much health. the lifes etc. The HUD makes a game better because it is easy to use and see and shows the player exactly what they need to know without having to make an alternate screen.
Print media
Print media is basically the advertising side of making the games so for example the posters, cover, manual, label and game packaging. The big companies use better covers and make it look better to attract more attention as a lot of the time people.
Types of digital Graphics: Vector
Vector is an artistic style that is mainly used in creating logos the reason for this is because then if you zoom in or out the logo will not get pixelated and will stay the same quality.

Raster images
blenderartists.org
Raster images are different to vector images as if you zoom in or out of the image it will show pixels instead of a better quality picture. Raster images are quicker to make and requires less storage space however, when you zoom in the quality of the picture will be reduced. Raster images are JPGs, TIFFs, GIFs and a BMP the most common one used is a JPG.
